Jax Optimized Model of Dust Debri Scattered Light Disks

Purpose

This project accelerates runtime by about 186x for static PSF images and 40x for JWST images, increases accuracy, and allows for concrete differentiation of model generation. This accelerates disk forward modeling which allows previous tasks that took hours to days to be completed in less than 30 minutes! This boost in productivity enables astronomers to discover more details about planetary systems and uncover new connections to the processes shaping our own planet.

GRaTeR-JAX is a JAX-based implementation of the Generalized Radial Transporter (GRaTeR) framework, designed for modeling scattered light disks in protoplanetary systems. This repository provides tools for forward modeling, optimization, and parameter estimation of scattered light disk images using JAX accelerated computations.
